Freedom to Speak Up Guardian

Helen Ellis

The Trusts expects that everybody is able to raise concerns at the earliest opportunity creating an environment where, it is business as usual to raise the concern either with their line manager or through the Trust Freedom to Speak Up Guardian.  The Trust encourages everyone to be open, honest and truthful at all times.

The majority of circumstances the easiest way to get your concern resolved is to raise if with you clinical or educational supervisor.  Any of the educational faculty (Specialty tutors, FPD, Sub Dean and DME) will be supportive in hearing about any concerns. If you feel these people aren;t approachable or available please contact Helen, Freedom to Speak Up Guardian.

Helen’s priorities over the coming months are to raise the profile of the Freedom to Speak Up agenda, look at new ways to increase the confidence of staff to raise a concern, ensure that mechanisms are robust so that staff are supported fully once they have raised a concern and promote a culture of openness across the Trust.
